The Allen-Bradley 1756-IB32 /B is a high-density ControlLogix® digital input module designed to interface up to 32 discrete DC signals with industrial automation controllers. Operating on a 24V DC sinking configuration, this module allows for extensive I/O expansion while occupying only a single chassis slot. The Series B revision features optimized internal circuitry for improved thermal management and enhanced electronic keying capabilities compared to earlier hardware versions.
Each of the 32 channels on the 1756-IB32 /B is capable of high-speed signal detection, supporting Change-of-State (COS) cyclic updates as fast as 200 µs. The inputs are organized into four isolated groups of eight, providing localized common points that simplify field wiring and improve electrical noise immunity across diverse sensor types, including proximity switches, limit switches, and photoelectric sensors.
