Product Description

The Siemens 6DD1660-0AK0 is a CS41 communication module designed for use in SIMADYN D systems and closely related SIMATIC TDC control architectures. It enables fast, deterministic data exchange between the SIMADYN D control system and external digital AC/DC drive systems or distributed I/O stations.

The 6DD1660-0AK0 is addressed by SIMADYN D processor modules PM12 or PM16 via the system’s local bus (L-Bus) using a programmable address decoder (PAD). Internally, the module features a dual-processor architecture based on two 16-bit V25 (70320) CPUs operating at an 8 MHz system clock, ensuring stable real-time communication performance in demanding drive and motion control environments.

Data transfer between the processors and the L-Bus is handled through two dual-port RAMs (DP-RAM), each with 2 KB memory capacity. Word-wise access is used on the L-Bus side, while byte-wise access is handled internally by the processors. Hardware-based arbitration logic guarantees controlled access to shared memory resources.

Each processor is equipped with 64 KB EPROM for program storage and 32 KB buffered SRAM for working memory. The module provides multiple independent serial communication interfaces, routed via Sub-D 15-pin connectors, allowing direct connection to SIMOREG K and SIMOVERT digital drive converters or ET 100 distributed I/O systems.
