Product Overview

The Woodward 9907-028 Rev C is an SPM-A Synchronizer Module designed for automatic generator synchronization prior to paralleling with a live bus or another generator. It controls speed trim and breaker close permissive signals to ensure safe and accurate synchronization.

This model supports frequency and phase angle matching only and does not provide voltage matching, making it suitable for systems where voltage regulation is handled externally by an AVR or excitation system.

The SPM-A series is widely used in power generation switchgear, marine generator sets, and industrial power systems where reliable automatic synchronization is required.

Functional Characteristics

The 9907-028 Rev C compares generator and bus signals to determine slip frequency and phase angle, then outputs corrective signals to the governor speed controller. When synchronization conditions fall within preset limits, the module issues a breaker closure permissive signal.
