It is designed to monitor machine guards, access doors, and protective covers without mechanical contact, ensuring Category 4 / PLe safety performance when used with a suitable safety controller.
The 440N-Z21S16H uses coded RFID technology to prevent defeat or bypass, making it suitable for applications where high safety integrity and hygiene resistance are required. Its compact 18 mm cylindrical plastic housing and IP69K rating allow installation in harsh washdown and food-grade environments.
Operating Principle
This sensor operates using an RFID coded actuator. When the actuator enters the assured sensing distance, the safety outputs switch ON. Removal of the actuator immediately opens the safety circuit. No mechanical wear occurs, ensuring long service life and stable repeatability.
