Description

The MTL4016 is a dual-channel switch/proximity detector interface unit, designed for safe interfacing of signals from hazardous areas, supporting NAMUR-compliant proximity sensors and dry contacts.

Input/Output

• Sensor Voltage: 7.0–9.0 V DC via 1kΩ

• Input Threshold (NAMUR std.):
  • Output closed: >2.1 mA (<2 kΩ)
  • Output open: <1.2 mA (>10 kΩ)
  • Hysteresis: 200 µA (650 Ω) nominal

• Line Fault Detection (LFD):
  • Output opens at <100 µA (broken line)
  • Output opens at >6.5 mA (shorted line)

• Phase Reversal: Independent switches per channel

• Proximity Detector Location: Zone 0, IIC, T4–T6 (certified); Div.1, Group A
